Baldwin Preaux Wash uses a two-step deck restoration process: first a wood-safe cleaner kills mildew and lifts dirt, then a brightener neutralizes the cleaner and restores the wood's natural color. The result looks brand new and is ready for stain or sealant within 48 hours.
Step 1: Clean. A wood-safe cleaning solution penetrates the surface, killing mildew and lifting embedded dirt and gray weathered wood fibers. We let it dwell 10–15 minutes, then rinse at very low pressure to avoid raising the grain.
Step 2: Brighten. A wood brightener (mild oxalic acid) neutralizes the cleaner, closes the wood pores, and restores the rich natural color. Without this step, the cleaner can leave wood looking dull and washed-out.
